Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
This program provides a heating assistance credit one time per heating season. Once a person is qualified for this program, they are eligible for all KVCAP other Energy related programs,such as weatherization, home repair, furnace replacement and more, if the need is there.
Homeless Assistance: Maine Housing Authority (MSHA)
If you are homeless and need emergency shelter, or need transitional or subsidized housing to get back on your feet, MaineHousing may be able to help. We finance emergency shelters and other affordable housing options, and can help you locate this housing. We also provide rental assistance to people who are homeless and working toward self-sufficiency. MaineHousing and its partners are working to end homelessness in Maine.

Emergency Assistance (EA) is a TANF-related program run by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). EA helps children and their families with some emergencies. The program does not cover all emergencies. You have to have children in your home, but you do not have to be on TANF, to get EA.
